4.02: The Fires of Pompeii
Written by James Moran
Directed by Colin Teague (Block 3)
Cast: Peter Capaldi (Caecillius), Phil Davis (Lucius), Tracey Childs (Metella), Francesca Fowler.
The Doctor and Donna arrive in Pompeii in AD 79, on the eve of the historic eruption of Mount Vesuvius. Should they warn the residents of Pompeii of the forthcoming catastrophe or leave them to fend for themselves?
Gefilmt wurde diese Folge in den berühmten Cinecitta studios in Rom (TV Geeks unter anderem durch 'Rome' bekannt), wo die Kulisse
schnell Pompeii angepasst wurde.
RTD in einem Interview: "I control the mothership. I say: 'I want Pompeii, with rock monsters!' How great is that?"
(Mark Michalowski): "[Catherine Tate is] brilliant - I think she’ll surprise a lot of people who think she just does funny voices. She’s a much more versatile actress than people often give her credit for - the end of the second episode, 'The Fires of Pompeii', really gives her something to get her teeth into!"
Fear Factor: 4 / 5 (Chilling)
