At Icon 2000, the annual Israeli Science Fiction and Fantasy Convention, it was announced that DUNE: HOUSE ATREIDES has won the Geffen Award for \"Best SF Novel of the Year.\" The award is named after the late Amos Geffen, co-founder of the Israeli Society for Science Fiction and Fantasy, and a trailblazer in SF publishing in Israel.
