Die Con hat noch gar nicht angefangen und doch gibt's schon die ersten News. Zwar immer noch nichts offizielles, aber das kann ja noch kommen. :D


Awesome Info from Burbank !!!

Hey Y'all!!

I am deliberately giving you this news in the dryest language possible, and I remind you that NOTHING IS SET IN STONE. It's so easy to get excited. But there's reason to at least keep our hopes and efforts going...

After the Jay Leno show, many of the scapers returned to the hotel. RaeLee Hill (Sikozu) was in the lobby. RoseyM and I were standing there waiting for Tiriel. Naturally, I couldn't find myself standing two feet from this adorable (and tiny!) woman without saying something to her, so we struck up a conversation. RoseyM asked RaeLee if there was anything she could tell us about the show's future. I didn't have the nerve. I assumed RaeLee would say there was nothing to tell.....

OMG! RaeLee told us several things:

1. All of the Farscape actors are "on hold".

2. The studio has been reserved for the months of December, January, and February. RaeLee said they had reserved the "big one" that they used when the show first started.

3. She said the sets were being built now.

4. RaeLee said she believes a three part mini-series and a feature movie combination is being discussed. But she's not sure....

5. She said Ben Browder had signed something. She's not sure but, RaeLee believes it was a letter of intent of some type.


You can imagine how excited RoseyM and I were to hear this news!! I asked RaeLee if it was ok to put this news on the internet because there were a lot of people who would want to hear about this. I also have no desire to get RaeLee into trouble. She said that no one had told her to keep this information a secret. It was ok to tell 5,000 of my closest friends. She just wanted me to make sure that I say clearly that NOTHING IS SET IN STONE

I guess the bottom line here is that we have every reason to keep hope a alive scapers!!!

What?s Going On With FARSCAPE??

According to a Wednesday Dark Horizons report, an "insider" indicates Farscape is back in production and will be back with 4-6 new episodes.

According to a WednesdayTV Guide Online report, Rockne S. O&#39;Bannon and Brian Henson were supposed to have participated in a Thursday press conference to "announce an exciting new development in the campaign to continue Farscape," but that press conference apparently did not transpire.

Much of the show&#39;s cast and crew are expected to attend a big Farscape convention here in Los Angeles this weekend, so we&#39;ll likely be hearing something soon.

She just called again. Ricky Manning stood up said "Patience. Just a little while longer."He got the crowd chanting "Time will tell&#33; Time Will Tell&#33;" And then she started getting nasty looks from people around her and had to go. Said she&#39;d call me back later.

This concludes this haphazard Con 2003 Report....


Okay, we&#39;re on a break right now. BTW, Red, BritAngie, and the two guys were AWESOME&#33;&#33;&#33; What Froony said was that "there is nothing new" - although he did acknowledge that there were rumors going around. Adam Mailin of Creation did send along greetings from DK, who "is in Australia working on a project that you will be very interested in." But, Froon&#39;s non-announcement really put a damper on the crowd - at least from my position back in the cheap seats.

Ginny and Paul were hysterical&#33;&#33;&#33; They really play well off of each other. Ginny&#39;s constantly standing next to Paul.

But that&#39;s the latest news. Froonie says "time and patience."

Vor etwa einer Stunde hatte Rockne S. O&#39;Bannon seinen Auftritt (zum Thema "The Origins of Farscape"). Und machte dabei ein paar Andeutungen. Interpretationen auf eigene Gefahr. ;)


B&#39;s Burbank rpt 2: What Rockne didn&#39;t say

What Rockne didn&#39;t say... (note that this is all from memory, so I don&#39;t have perfect quotes- this is just my best jo at getting the spirit of the comments made&#33;)


Well, just walked back to the room to give you this brief update. Rockne is taking a last question or two, so unless something was said in the last 5 minutes, this is the latest....

Rockne appeared on the stage with a piece of red tape covering his mouth, and after taking it off, he said that "I talked with Brian, and there are some I&#39;s that not yet dotted and some T&#39;s that need to be crossed, so, I just can&#39;t say anything."

He gave a great short talk about the origins of FS, but mingled into his talk and his answers to questions, he let out a few things:

"Brian and DK send a special hello; they can&#39;t be with us today because they are Syndney working on a project that I can&#39;t say anything about" (the crowd roars...)

In answer to a fantastically worded questions about what his role would be if something that couldn&#39;t talk about were to happen: "IF something like that were to happen, I would be involved as a writer and an executive producer"

and...

"I&#39;ll be in a meeting next week with Brian and DK, and" (crowd roars again)

So- no direct announcement, but a whole lot of winking and comments and so on- we&#39;re getting our show back&#33;

Hier noch ein paar Auszüge aus trubadors Bericht.

Then out comes ROCKNE O&#39;BANNON (with red duct tape over his mouth). The room was vibrating when he first got on stage&#33;&#33;&#33; He couldn&#39;t really say anything (even after he peeled off the duct tape from his mouth). BUT.... HE DID SAY THIS..... that they just needed to "make that all the i&#39;s were dotted and the t&#39;s were crossed" business-wise on what&#39;s going on right now. And then he said this: "If there was ever any opportunity to read between the lines, this is it." He also mentioned that DK was currently "in Sydney as we speak."

He praised the fans tremendously. If it wasn&#39;t for the hope that us fans had and maintained all these months, they would have given up (even Henson&#39;s would&#39;ve given up). (YEAH, US&#33;&#33;&#33;)

Ben:

When we last left off, Claudia left the stage (guitar in hand), and Ben is there all alone, grinning from ear-to-ear (Cheshire Cat-like) and says..... "Hi&#33;" to the crowd. He takes out a stack of cards to read from and says, "These are the official e-mail talking points as to why I can&#39;t talk about what I can&#39;t talk about...(1) they are currently in the middle of negotiations with Brad Pitt to star as John Crichton in the motion picture...... (2) they are in the middle of negotiations with Kermit to play Rygel in the motion picture..... (3) shooting in Australia means crossing the time zones, which would then cause a rip in the time-space continuum - too dangerous..... (4) homeland security issue --- Moya&#39;s crew is being threatened (my wife told me that)...... (5) it would cause a major destabilization of the latex market.... And (6) the truth is, David Kemper&#39;s evil&#33;"

Was ich noch interessant fand, waren folgende Aussagen von Rockne:


they had tried to get the show on FOX, but by the time the pilot ep was ready, FOX was already committed to ?Space: Above and Beyond.?
Wir können wirklich sehr froh sein, dass Farscape *nicht* bei FOX gelandet ist. Das wäre glaube ich definitiv nicht lange gut gegangen und Farscape hätte wahrscheinlich das Schicksal von "Space:" gehabt.


?Network TV will not take up a show [like Farscape]? because of the high cost, and because of the lack of mass appeal necessary for network TV.
Was natürlich die Spekulationen anheizt, bei welchem Sender Farscape landen wird (arg, landen würde, falls es neue Folgen gäbe). Ich denke immer noch, dass es nur der Scifi Channel sein kann. So sehr wie wir über den Channel und seine neue Ausrichtung in letzter zeit wettern (zu Recht&#33;), sollten wir nicht vergessen, dass Skiffy Farscape überhaupt erst möglich gemacht hat, dass sie in der 2. und 3. Season die Producer überhaupt erst in die typische Farscape-Richtung gedrängt haben (macht etwas abgefahreneres, was uns von anderen abhebt&#33;). Ich denke, nur bei Skiffy hätte Farscape eine Chance auch Farscape zu bleiben. Und krähen die Spatzen (hm.. wohl eher die Krähen, aber das wäre ne Doppelverwortung) nicht von den Dächern, dass sich auch bei Skiffy in letzter Zeit einiges getan hat? Mal abwarten, was uns der Montag bringt.

November 16, 2003: Today was the last day of the fourth-but-not-last Farscape convention. A couple of more things were said that will probably give fans even more hope than they had yesterday. When Ben was about to leave for the airport (he&#39;s starting a movie in Texas tomorrow - more about that later) he said that he hoped we&#39;d all be back next year with new things to talk about&#33;

Fran Buller (Ben&#39;s wife who played several parts in Farscape) said that she and Ben were asked to send Wynonna (Crichton&#39;s pulse pistol that they&#39;ve been keeping) back to Oz. They were promised that very good care would be taken of it.

hab mir grad im frell me dead forum die burbank-berichte durchgelesen...
tja wie soll man das in worte fassen? von den diversen gerüchten der letzten monate hab ich ja schon ein bischen was mitbekommen aber dass da jetzt dermassen mit meterlangen zaunpfählen rumgewunken wird hat mich doch umgehauen. ich kann kaum glauben dass nach all den schlechten nachrichten und dem schon fast routinemässigen savefarscape kampf (naja ehrlichgesagt hab ich nur drei kleine brieflein und ein paar internetclicks dazu beigetragen) eine zeit der vorfreude angebrochen ist
werd jetzt noch die karlsweb berichte durchschauen und schonmal ne flasche wein aufmachen
übrigens ist die sache mit twitch und dem anruf ein echter hammer
hab mich selten beim lesen im fmd so amüsiert wie heute
