The November edition of the MGM newsletter includes a "Behind the Scenes" page about Stargate SG-1 which tells the following: "Stargate SG-1 fans, be on the lookout for handsome hunk Corin Nemec, who'll blast his way through the Stargate as Liander Quinn in an upcoming episode entitled, 'Meridian'.".

As you've read in recent newsreports Daniel's replacement will be introduced in the episode Meridian and they don't call him a guest actor. Also Brad Wright said it would be a "big guy" - as in a big name - and looking at Nemec's IMDB record it does look impressive. Thinking about this it isn't unlikely 'Liander Quinn' will be Daniel Jackson's replacement...
