Um zu beweisen, daß ich nicht nur destruktive, "abbauende" Gedanken gegenüber Farscape hege, hier folgende Information:

Ich habe Google(.com) angeschrieben mit der Frage, ob sie nicht anlässlich des Jahrestags der Cancellation (so ein elegantes Wort für eine Tragödie) ihr normales Logo gegen eines im Farscape-Style eintauschen könnten/wollen (welches entweder von den Google-Grafikern oder den grafisch begabteren unter den Scapern entworfen würde).

Hier Googles Antwort:

Sometimes Google changes its logo according to holidays or other events worth to remember. To make a long story short:

I'm speaking for a large community of fans of the SF-series "Farscape".
This series was cancelled at September 6, 2002. Fans all around the world will
"celebrate" this day with all kinds of campaigns, showing that there is
still a lot of interest in continuing the series (for further information see
www.savefarscape.com - or use your search engine ;-)).

Could you contribute to this by changing the official Google logo to a more "Farscape"-stylish Google logo on that day? Or can we buy this kind of service?
How much would it cost? Would it change on all Google sites?

Of course, one of your graphical artists could design such a logo, but
with your permission I would ask the grapical artists within the fan community to
send possible logos to you from which you may choose.



Most probably you will refuse to do that (otherwise you couldn't save yourself
from the flood of new logos), but asking is free ...

I apologize for all sorts of mistakes and errors in this letter.

Ich weiß, die Antwort hat in ihrer Unverbindlichkeit fast Sat.1-Niveau, aber einen Versuch war es wert ... Hat jemand eigentlich schon einmal so etwas versucht?

Vielleicht könntet Ihr meiner Bitte Nachdruck verleihen, indem Ihr selbst diese Anfrage stellt (suggestions@google.com) oder gar - ungefragt - selbstgefertigte Logos hinschickt? Außerdem wäre ein Ansprechen dieser Idee im Forum von www.savefarscape.com auch "nicht unnützlich". Wenn die von Google allerdings dafür Geld verlangen ...

Mein Vorschlag fürs Google-Logo ---
der GOOGLE-Schriftzug in Farscape-Font mit dem mittleren G in besonderer, hervorgehobener Form (ähnlich dem Farscape-"S"), mit einer kleinen Moya vor dem Schriftzug, die gerade Starburst initiiert; aber ich bin kein Grafiker.
