ANGEL 5.04 - Zusammenfassung

This episode of Angel has an official "...graphic and disturbing violent images and partial nudity. Viewer Discretion Advised" warning in the trailer. You don't see nudity, Spike is naked but you don't see anything.

Spike refers to Angel as "Liam" when they are sitting on the couch discussing their pasts.

Spike mocks Angel for liking Barry Manilow. In past seasons, Angel has sung 'Mandy' at Caritas (Lorne's karoke bar), sung a different version of it with his son ("Oh Jasmine"), and he thinks the song is pretty.

At the end of the episode they take care of the ghostly menace by making sure the Reaper will never die again, by putting him in a stasis where he is "unable to move, to touch, or to feel, or to affect anything in the world around". In this state he will live for ever, or at least as long as the LA branch is standing.

Angel says he's more of a dog man. I guess he didn't feel that way when he was evil considering what Giles was about to tell Buffy what Angelus did to a puppy years ago on Valentine's Day in the Buffy episode 'Bewitched, Bothered And Bewildered'.

Spike finds out about the Shanshu prophecy, which Angel now doubts. Spike isn't aware that the Shanshu prophecy doesn't refer to Angel specifically, but rather the vampire with a soul. So Spike could be in the running for it.

In reference to Angel saying he was a "dog" person, last season's flashback in 'Orpheus' showed Angel rushing across the street to save a dog from being hit by a car.

More regarding Angel being a dog person, they could be refering to David Boreanaz in real life. He has a dog (that's how he got Angel's role in the first place, discovered by the agents when walking his dog).

The viewer discression mentioned 'scenes of nudity' but you don't actually see any nudity. Spike is naked, but thankfully his leg is always in the way and they don't show any shots from behind.

When Angel is locking up Pavayne in W&H's basement and told him welcome to Hell, he was talking from experience, as Pavayne's lil window looked just like the one Angel had when Conner trapped him at the bottom of the ocean.

Angel seems to have liked Spike's (aka Williams) Poems. Which were pretty bad.

There is a datebase called "The Dark Soul" which lists all of history's darkest crimes. Four of Angelus' crimes are on this list.

The "partial nudity" warning may have been because of the shower scene with Fred. It didn't show much, but it showed more than James Marster's scenes...
