mußte ne Weile suchen um die Seite wiederzufinden. Mußte mein System mehrmals neu machen und dabei ging mir der Link für diese geniale Seite leider verloren aber jetzt bin ich froh das ich sie durchs goggeln wiedergefunden habe "DRD1812" sei dank (sein Name hat beim goggeln geholfen)

Und jetzt lese ich diesen Thread und kann meinen Augen kaum glauben. Als das Gerücht aufkam war ich erst sehr vorsichtig aber jetzt bin ich doch sehr optimistisch und meine Mutter auch. Klingt sehr vielversprechend.

Na dann willkommen zurück im Forum. Ist ja die reinste Scaper-Invasion hier zur Zeit.

Vom 14. bis 16. November ist die große Farscape-Con in Burbank, wo wir vielleicht mehr erfahren werden. Ich versuche meine Erwartungen auf Sparflamme zu halten, um nicht zu sehr enttäuscht zu sein, wenn das "announcement" dann doch ausbleibt ausbleibt, aber ich fiebere dem Tag entgegen. Einige Beneidenswerte von uns werden ja sogar vorort sein.

1812 ist übrigens eine sie.

Na, bis zu der Con dauert es ja zum Glück nicht mehr lange. Wäre auch gerne dabei aber erhoffe mir doch einige ausführliche berichte von denen unter uns die mit dabei sind.

als ich meiner mutter erzählt habe das sich die gerüchte über farscape weiter erhärten hat sie sich auch sehr gefreut. sie hat sogar bei den savefarscape aktionen mitgemacht und ist genau so süchtig wie die meisten von uns

nur bei den englischsprachigen folgen, leider die gesamte 4. staffel sorgt bei ihr für durchhalteprobleme aber wenn ich eine folge dann am gucken bin kann sie doch nicht wiederstehen und schaut wieder lach B)

A few weeks ago, I'd met a girl at a gathering I went to, and we were chatting about various things. She'd happened to mention she had a friend in Australia, and so (of course) I asked if he knew about Farscape. She hadn't heard of the show, so I told her about it, and said I was a big fan of the show. She was intrigued, so she said she'd ask him to find out if he'd heard of it.

I pretty much forgot about the whole exchange, but yesterday we all got together again, and so she told me she'd asked her friend.

His response was something like this: "It's really funny that you should ask me that, because my girlfriend (an actress) just got a part on that show!"

I'd never explained the part about the cancellation, so she didn't understand my reaction. To make sure, I asked, "You mean, RECENTLY? She was JUST hired?" And she said "Yeah!" So I told her about the cancellation, and that there were a bunch of rumors about a miniseries or film or both, so that if this were true, it would basically be confirming the rumor.

Reliable sources have confirmed a return of the
ground-breaking science fiction drama "Farscape", with
an official announcement of the project currently
scheduled for the weekend of November 14-16, at the
annual Official Farscape Convention in Burbank,
California.

An unresolved cliffhanger left fans of the show in
agonized limbo last year, after increasing production
costs and a very public falling out with the show's
previous home, cable's SciFi Channel, led to the
cancellation of the award-winning series at the end of
its fourth season. Irate fans, to whom SciFi had
previously promised a fifth season, mobilized in
impressive fashion in response to the cancellation,
landing coverage of the show's situation repeatedly in
major media outlets, including CNN and TV Guide, for
over 14 months.

International corporate deals have since led to the
reacquisition of The Jim Henson Company by the
founder's offspring, and the sale of SciFi Channel's
parent company to NBC. There remains little love lost
between the two former partners, and a return of the
show to its original venue was reportedly never
considered feasible by either side. The show's
long-term value as an entertainment asset, however,
could have been severely damaged by the lack of a
clear resolution to storylines left hanging at the end
of its original run.

The production team wanted a way to satisfy their
vocal fanbase; more critically, they needed a way to
protect the long-term value of the asset. Most team
members had already moved on to other projects, making
the reassembling of cast, crew, and the show's massive
sets a financial impossibility. In what critics
consider Farscape's trademark style, however, the
producers will try a new twist to resolve the problem.

Production will begin in December, on a full-length,
animated film, with the entire original cast returning
to voice their characters. The originally planned
fifth season of the show is being used as the basis
for the script, which will resolve a number of major
storylines and provide viewers with an appropriate (if
abbreviated) conclusion to the adventures of John
Crichton and Crew in the Uncharted Territories.

While character-design is still in the early stages,
there are strong indications that the producers will
follow a style based on the popular "Farpark"
parodies. The show used extensive cartoon animation
in an original episode, to great critical effect and
general accolades, and producers express confidence
that fans will similarly embrace the new project.

Distribution of the film was an early concern. The
production partners have no way to effectively bundle
and market the entire asset to broadcasters as a
single package, until the SciFi Channel's contract to
air existing episodes expires. Taking another page
from the fanbase playbook, the production will follow
the risky approach of releasing the animated film
directly to the internet via peer-to-peer file sharing
programs (such as BitTorrent and Kazaa), relying on
the proven fan devotion for distribution.

Some concerns already raised include the potential
disruption of the film's distribution by anti-piracy
vigilantes, who are likely to claim that this endeavor
does not have the endorsement of the "Farscape"
property's copyright holders. However, the production
partners have expressed confidence that wiser heads
will prevail, commenting, "Our fans are smarter than
that. They know the difference between theft by
downloading, and
downloading a fix to hold you over until the DVD is
released. This is our way of saying thanks."

The scheduled release date for the project is April
1st, 2004.

Was dieses Posting angeht:
Meine offene und ehrliche Meinung: Was für ein BLÖDSINN.
Sorry, aber ein Anime-Film? Das ist zum einen schon mal vorne und hinten nicht konsistent mit den bisherigen Gerüchten, die ja bisher eigentlich alle recht gut ineinadergriffen. Und zweitens: basierend auf den "beliebten Farpark Parodien". Also ich kann mir nur schwer vorstellen, dass man einen offizielen Film basierend auf einer handvoll Fan-Zeichnungen machen wird.
Für mich klingt das eher nach einer wild zusammengewürfelten Mischung aus diversen, im Farscape-Fandom kursierenden Dingen:
1. eine im Farscape-Universum angesiedelten Anime-Serie ist zwar seit Jahren im Gespräch, liegt aber schon eine ganze Weile auf Eis. Ausserdem sollte so eine Serie nach bisherigen Aussagen story-mässig eher weniger mit der Real-Serie zu tun haben und schon gar nicht eine Fortsetzung derselben sein. Und man sprach von einem "an japanische Animes angelehnten Zeichenstil", also schon mal gar nix Farparkiges.
2. Ja, das Fandom wartet im Moment auf eine offizielle Ankündigung einer etwaigen Fortsetzung auf der Burbank Con am nächsten Wochenende. Das ist allerdings alles nur frohe Hoffnung, denn niemand hat jemals gesagt, dass es auf dieser Con eine Ankündigung gäbe, sondern es handelt sich dabei lediglich um mehr oder weniger logische Schlussfolgerungen von Fans ("Wenn sie eine Ankündigung machen, dann wäre Burbank eigentlich ein hervorragender Ort") in Reaktion auf die in den letzten Wochen immer häufiger aufkommenden Gerüchte.
Mischen wir das also mit ein paar anderen Fakten und Schwupps haben wir ein hübsches neues Gericht.
Und im vorletzten Absatz wird dann endgültig deutlich, warum diese Meldung totaler Blödsinn ist: Eine Veröffentlichung via P2P? Hallo? Wohl eher nicht...

Da hat sich jemand wirklich Mühe gemacht, aber die Chance, dass an diesem Gerücht etwas dran ist, halte ich doch für sehr sehr gering.
Ich halte das ganze für einen Scherz, zwar gutaufgezogen und mit einigen korrekten Fakten gespickt, aber trotzdem nur ein Scherz.

PS: Und wenn doch, na dann Gute Nacht...

Eine weiter Tatsache dafür, dass da etwas in der Mache ist, ist der Kommentar von Jonathan Hardy am Sonntag auf der Comic-Messe in Castrop-Rauxel. Er "hätte gehört" - man denke sich jetzt ein Zwinkern dazu - dass 4 oder 5 Folgen gedreht werden sollen.
Offiziell weiß er natürlich nichts, aber das Zwinkern ist schon sehr, sehr verdächtig...

Zugegeben, vielen ist das Sci Fi BBoard als "Troll-infested Swamp" bekannt, aber ich dachte ich pack&#39;s mal dazu, zwecks Vollständigkeit und so.


Und dann hätten wir nämlich noch das hier:

Farscape (TV): The cancelled but highly acclaimed Sci-Fi Channel series which had its plug pulled earlier this year may be making a comeback. Last week an insider sent along this rumour: "Farscape is back in production - the series is to be wrapped up in 4-6 new episodes with the usual crew, cast and producers. The props and sets are being dusted off and are being assembled in preparation for filming in Sydney. The new mini-season will complete the story arc and bring closure". An interesting story and a solid source but still it sounded almost like wishful thinking and as there still hasn&#39;t been any official announcement about it I held off. After all, you would&#39;ve thought Sci-Fi would have shouted it from the rooftops that its coming back to appease the ravenous fans of the show (incl. me). Then some people I know connected with the show started mentioning it&#39;s coming back and its confirmed that the Sydney production office is open again. I placed three separate calls to them on Tuesday to confirm/deny the rumours and all three calls were not only summarily cut off at their end but the secretary hurled nasty insults (courtesy is a dying art) - I&#39;ve never had problems with these guys before so best guess would be they&#39;ve been advised not to speak to press at all (which would explain the lack of coverage locally). That would also explain that when I got in contact with a US publicity rep for Sci-Fi, they said they couldn&#39;t comment on it at this time but will be releasing details when they&#39;re available soon. Something IS stirring, I guess we&#39;ll have to wait to find out what exactly.

Hm seltsam, erst geht die Ankündigung an alle grossen Newsseiten und dann wird das ganze abgesagt.
Hoffentlich hat&#39;s nur damit zu tun, dass einer der Verantwortlichen nicht rechtzeitig anwesend sein kann (die schippern ja gerade alle wegen der Con um den halben Globus...), oder man möchte doch bis Samstag warten...
