Chicago - Star Trek actress Jeri Lynn Ryan has accused her ex-husband, a banker turned US Senate candidate, of asking her to perform sex acts in clubs, according to divorce court papers released on Tuesday.

The 36-year-old actress said Jack Ryan, who is a Republican candidate for Congress in the November 2 elections, dragged her to sex clubs during supposed "romantic" getaways to New York, New Orleans and Paris, according to the court papers.

Jeri Lynn Ryan said she refused to enter one New York club that had mattresses in cubicles, but later was persuaded to go to a club, which was decked out with cages, whips and other equipment hanging from the ceiling.

"Respondent wanted me to have sex with him there with another couple watching," the actress said in excerpts from court documents published in several Chicago newspapers. Ryan said she refused.

"Respondent asked me to perform a sexual activity upon him and he specifically asked other people to watch. I was very upset.

"We left the club and respondent apologised, said that I was right and that he would never insist that I go to a club again. He promised that it was out of his system."
