Anlesen sollte man auch mal Ian M. Banks Culture-Zyklus. Es geht darin im wesentlichen um eine von hyperintelligenten KIs geführte "Uber-Föderation". Reihenfolge ist egal, da jedes Buch eine einzelne Story darstellt.
Zustimmung zu Ilium, großartiges Buch. Wenn eine Rangliste erstellen würde käme es nach Hyperion und vor Ilium

Eigentlich wollte ich aber Banks empfehlen, sein neuer Kultur-Roman Matter ist gerade (noch nur auf englisch) erschienen. Ich bin schon durch und mal wieder begeistert.
