Will The Colonial Fleet Ever Find Peace On BSG?

The following story contains MAJOR SPOILERS for the second season finale of "Battlestar Galactica."

Can a Cylon get tired, too? Maybe, but "Battlestar Galactica" fans may have to wait until next summer to find out for sure.

Battlestar Wiki is reporting details of the two-part second season finale of "Battlestar Galactica" that will air in March, and with it comes the return of an old friend with ... an olive branch.

According to the site, Cylon model Leoben Conoy (Callum Keith Rennie) will return to the Colonial fleet with an offer of peace from the Cylons. What do they want in return? Colonials would have to abandon their multiple gods and instead worship one god ... the Cylon god. Of course, the Cylons want some people as well to help them continue their human-Cylon hybrid program.

"In spite of the potentially horrific terms, the civilian population of the fleet seems to support Conoy's peace plan, but Roslin (Mary McDonnell) and Adama (Edward James Olmos) do not," the site reports about the episode, tentatively called "Lay Down Your Burdens." "Roslin is determined to strike down the peace accord and calls a referendum on the matter."

And Roslin will seek help for the referendum from her friend and rival, Tom Zarek, marking the return of Richard Hatch to the series as his political terrorist character.

The site also reports that rumors are circulating that Dean Stockwell -- who played Al in "Quantum Leap" -- will be making a guest appearance in these two episodes that will close the second season of the series.

Of course, none of this information has been confirmed by SciFi Channel or NBC Universal, and should be treated as any rumor would.

"Battlestar Galactica" airs Fridays at 10 p.m. ET on SciFi Channel.

Einige "Battlestar Galactica"-Spoiler wurden vor kurzem bei Shaun's Subject2Discussion Internet-Talkshow verkündet.

Ein neues Zylonen-Modell taucht im zweiteiligen Staffelfinale "Lay Down Your Burdens" auf. Sein Name ist Bruder Cavel, und er wird vom bekannten Schauspieler und SciFi-Veteran Dean Stockwell gespielt. Eine der denkwürdigsten Rollen des Schauspielers ist Al - das Hologramm aus der hochgelobten Serie "Zurück in die Vergangenheit". Es wird spekuliert, dass Cavil ein Mitglied des zylonischen, religiösen Ordens ist, deshalb der Name Bruder Cavil.

Auch von Interesse ist, welche(r) Zylon(en) der Galactica-Flotte die Hand des Friedens ausstrecken. Obgleich berichtet wurden, dass Leoben der Abgesandte ist, zeigen neue Informationen an, dass Nummer Sechs und Boomer die wohlwollenden Zylonen sind.

Andere Galactica-Spoiler sind ebenso aufgedeckt worden. Wie "Hollywood North Report" bereits berichtete, wird ein weiterer bekannter Schauspieler einen Gastauftritt in einer der kommenden Folgen haben: Niemand geringeres als Dana Delaney. Welche Rolle sie spielt, ist noch unsicher. Und für eine gewisse Zeit erreicht Vizepräsident Gaius Baltar sogar einen höheren Rang: Den des Präsidenten. Das bedeutet nicht, dass Laura Roslin stirbt – ganz im Gegenteil. Da sie sich jedoch von ihrer Krankheit erholt, nimmt Baltar diesen erhabenen Posten an und wird politischer Führer der Galactica-Flotte – mit allen Vor- und Nachteilen.

Zweifellos deuten diese Spoiler einige interessante Entwicklungen für die restlichen zehn Episoden von "Battlestar Galactica" an, welche ab Freitag dem 6. Januar wieder auf dem SCI FI Channel ausgestrahlt werden. All jene, welche diese Serie noch nicht kennen, sollten es doch bitte mal versuchen. Sie wurde vom Time Magazine zur NUMMER EINS SHOW des Jahres 2005 gekürt.

Sie werden nicht enttäuscht sein.

Das wäre dann Zylone Nummer 7, schön das man einen Schauspieler wie Dean Stockwell für die Rolle gewinnen konnte. Auf den religösen Orden bin ich auch gespannt, und wer von den bvisherigen humanoiden Zylonen noch dazu gehört.

Lucy's episode "Downloaded" is now episode #18 instead of #17 and has a definite date and will be shown as originally planned - there was talk about it being removed from the schedule because Ron Moore wasn't happy with it. It is now scheduled to air on 24th February 2006.

Downloaded

I've seen some speculation out there that we dropped the Cylon POV episode from the lineup this season, but I'm happy to report that it's untrue. The episode, "Downloaded" will be broadcast as number 18 and I just watched it last night. It's a good show and a very different spin on our story thus far, in that we're telling the A-story entirely through the eyes of the Cylons for the first time. This was something that I'd been wanting to do for a long time but it took a while to come to fruition. The confusion probably came from the fact that we had initially planned to do a clip show as ep 18, but then dropped those plans once we made the decision to split "Resurrection Ship" into two parts, thereby giving us an extra episode and obviating the need for the clip show (which was being planning for budgetary reasons).
