I ran into the ever-hotter-looking Merrin Dungey (formerly of Alias and now of Summerland) at the WB party, and my favorite party-starter nearly flipped her lid upon hearing that Bradley Cooper (Will) was returning to Alias. "I would love to bring [Merrin] back," JJ said. "I mean, it connects to what we were saying about the Lost issue. It's best to not work with people whom you like so much. We also just had David Anders (Sark) come back in a two-parter with Gina Torres (Anna Espinosa), and the guy is just so, so good. You get spoiled working with these actors, and then when you have to make creative choices, it kills you. Even on a personal level, not seeing them anymore. But I think there's always a chance that someone could come back, so I'm crossing my fingers that we can bring Merrin back, too. I love her."

He also, naturally, loves Jennifer Garner and was happy to tell me she's back at work and "doing great" after her injury, which brings great relief to costar Greg Grunberg (Weiss). "We were all very nervous," he said. "Jen was scared for a little bit. I mean, she does all of her fights and a lot of her stunts and then Elektra on top of it. She's just incredible, and that stuff catches up with you, you know? I mean, if I have to eat too fast or pull out my own chair, I call for a stunt man. I am only an actor!"

After initially insisting that Weiss is the reason Alias has made it four years, Greg admitted it's all about Jen. "That's why I make sure everything's okay in her life and send her chicken soup every day, because her health is my livelihood. And if anything happens in her love life that she's not happy about, I will kick someone's ass, okay? I have got Jen Garner's back. I will tell you right now that so far she's been thrilled and very, very happy, but I am watching."
