Da drängen sich jetzt nur einige Fragen auf: Zum Beispiel wann diese neue Serie zeitlich angesetzt wird:

In Jacks 2 fehlenden Jahren?
Oder sieht man, wie er von de Gamestation fliehen kann? Sucht er überhaupt nach Rose und dem Doctor oder macht er sofort was anderes?
Und wie wollen sie es schaffen, Jack am Ende doch wieder in Doctor Who umzusiedeln?

So sehr ich nämlich die Idee einer Captain Jack-Show mag, ich will ihn lieber wieder in er TARDIS haben als mit irgendwelchen UNIT-Verschnitten.

Andererseits: Eine neue Show muss so zugeschnitten sein, dass auch Leute ohne Who-Kenntnisse Freude daran haben... das wird schwer, es sei denn entweder man spricht die Vorfälle aus PoTW erst gar nicht an (was aber wieder Jack-Fans unglücklich macht) oder man macht schon in der ersten Folge nen Rückblick auf die Vorfälle, was wieder Neulinge abschreckt.

Und ganz wichtig: Ist Torchwood 'Canon'??

Das ganze wäre so ungefähr der beste April-Scherz aller Zeiten, wenn es denn einer wäre. Anagram von "Doctor Who", meine Fresse...
Ich bin gespannt.

Aber habe ich das jetzt richtig verstanden?

Erst Season 2 von "Doctor Who" ohne Jack,
dann Season 1 von "Torchwood"
und dann Season 3 von "Doctor Who", wo Jack wieder vorkommen soll?

Rieche ich da ein Crossover?

'Canon' meiner Meinung nach auf jeden Fall, denn Jack ist ja schon im Whoniversum... jetzt bleibt die Frage, warum Torchwood... die Spekulation geht auch bei mir dahin, dass Jack das sozusagen in 'bad wolf'-Manier so weit wie möglich im Universum verstreut in der Hoffnung der Doctor kapiert, für was das ein Anagramm wäre... naja, ich wäre ja immer noch dafür, er sprüht an jede Wand 'Jack Harkness war hier'

Interessant vor allem, dass das sogenannte 'Torchwood-Institut' schon in Bad Wolf in der Fragerunde bei 'The weakest link' aufgetaucht sein soll... hm...

Genau so solls laufen, obwohl ich mir da auch noch keinen Reim drauf machen kann, denn Crossovers soll es nach Pressebericht auf jeden Fall während der Staffel ja nicht geben. Hoffen wir also mal wir bekommen in der Christmas Invasion zu sehen, was Jack so macht *g*
Könnte mir vorstellen, dass er sich Torchwood anschliesst, weil die ihn auf der Gamestation auflesen, denn wenn *das* kein Einsatz von 'alien tech' war, dann weiß ich auch nicht. Eine Gruppe, die hinter solcher Technologie her wäre, wären ja die perfekten Verbündeten um den Doctor zu finden

Ein paar Aussagen von Barrowman persönlich in 'Loose Women':

Torchwood will be 'hot sexy, and after 9 o'clock'
It will air on BBC3 and will possibly repeat on BBC1
In the show, no one will know how he gets back to present-day Earth
Jack will have a team 'around him' helping to solve crimes
He plans to be wearing leather and promises whips and chains to boot!

Obwohl das mit den Peitschen und Ketten wohl nicht ganz ernst gemeint war (schade *g*)

"To the best of my knowledge that is the plan. Torchwood wraps and he goes into filming Doctor Who series 3 immediately or shortly there after."

Undoch ein paar News, geklaut von Outpost Gallifrey:

In the new Doctor Who Magazine, executive producer Russell T Davies has commented on the new spin-off series "Torchwood".
Davies says that the show and Doctor Who will "share some of the production base". Ed Thomas will now be Series Designer on both shows.
DWM also confirms with the production that Charlotte Church has not been approached to appear in the series, contrary to the recent reports in the British tabloids.
Davies also says that "anyone worrying that a new show will drain the resources of Doctor Who is just... well, a worrier. We've planned this in great detail. And all of the planning has taken account of the fact that Doctor Who is the BBC's flagship show [...] and must be protected and supported at all times. The shows have separate budgets, and both will be fully staffed from the best we can find." As is Davies' tradition, he also appears to casually drop in a character name: "the Doctor will be striding into 2006 with some truly astonishing adventures, with Jack and Gwen and the team following right behind!"
