Slice-Of-Scifi berichtet über etliche Quotensteigerungen bei SCIFI dank des Doctors:

SCI FI is benefiting from a dose of double-digit ratings growth this quarter on Fridays from 9pm to 10pm versus the time period last year, as the re-imagined version of Doctor Who wrapped its premiere season on the Channel Friday night, June 9th.

Doctor Who averaged a 1.3 HH rating and 1.5 million total viewers (P2+), up +44% in HH ratings and +54% in viewers vs. the Friday 9pm-10pm time period average for the 2nd quarter last year (.9 HH rating, 983,000 P25-54s).

In the key demos Doctor Who has averaged 778,000 P18-49s (+57% vs. 2005 time period) and 942,000 P25-54s (+56%).

BILLIE Piper will be sensationally killed off at the end of the current series of Doctor Who, The Sun can reveal.


The telly beauty, who plays Rose Tyler, will bow out of the BBC1 time-travelling hit during a battle with the Cybermen.

Bosses have already picked her replacement, who will join star David Tennant filming the third series in five weeks’ time.

Last night Billie said: “Rose and I have gone on the most incredible journey over the past two years, and I can confirm it comes to an end, for now at least.”

She was expected to return for a few episodes of the third series. But Rose will die in an episode aptly named Doomsday, featuring a huge invasion set to destroy Earth.

Show writer Russell T Davies said: “It’s been a wonderful experience working with Billie. We’ll miss her.”

Billie won Most Popular Actress at The National Television Awards last year. She is is currently filming the BBC’s adaptation of Philip Pullman’s book The Ruby In The Smoke, playing heroine Sally Lockhart.

Ich habs erwartet, aber hatte RTD nicht gesagt er wird Rose nicht töten? Ich wette, das ist alles komplizierter als wir denken, denn angeblich soll Rose doch Gastauftritte in season 3 haben... Heart of the TARDIS vielleicht nochmal?
