Apparently the 'surprise' kiss happens in the first episode of the new series. They're in a vertical position, so to speak, and the Doctor appears to be an active participant in said snoggage. Freema's got her eyes closed and it looks like dear ol' Dave who's the active partner. Freema's wearing a white coat (on duty as a trainee doctor?) and she's wearing her hair long but pinned back."
