The actor, who has taken over the coveted role from Christopher Eccleston, has joked he would love to film a whole series with nothing but computer technology to protect his modesty.
He quipped: "I'm going to be nude throughout. It's a whole new thing, with a bit of pixelation around the groin.
"But seriously, I do have a new costume." David, who shot to fame as the titular role in the BBC drama 'Casanova', also claims the sci-fi show - which co-stars Billie Piper - could get sexier.
